About the Role:
We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our DevTools team - a small, high-impact group focused on improving how engineering works across the company.
This is a hands-on leadership role.
You’ll manage a team of 4 engineers while staying close to the code and technical decisions.
Your mission is to build and scale internal tools that improve developer experience and productivity, while helping accelerate the adoption of AI across engineering workflows and the wider organization.
You’ll also act as the Product Owner for your domain - shaping priorities, defining the roadmap, and ensuring the tools you build solve real problems.
This role sits at the intersection of engineering, platform, and product.
You’ll shape how engineering works across the company, not just within one team, by building tools that impact every developer and product. You’ll have real ownership - both from a people and product perspective - and play a key role in introducing AI into engineering workflows.
What you will do:
Lead and support a team of engineers, creating a strong, collaborative, and accountable environment
Stay hands-on - contributing to design, architecture, and selected parts of the codebase
Own the DevTools roadmap as a Product Owner, prioritizing work based on impact and business needs
Design and build internal platforms and tooling that improve developer experience and speed
Drive adoption of modern engineering practices across teams (CI/CD, observability, DevOps)
Identify opportunities to introduce AI into development workflows and internal tooling
Work closely with engineers, product managers, and security teams to build scalable and reliable systems
Ensure systems are robust, observable, and built with performance, reliability, and security in mind
Mentor engineers and guide teams on best practices for building and using platform solutions
What we expect:
Experience leading engineering teams (line management or similar responsibility)
Strong background as a software engineer
Experience working with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure) and modern infrastructure (Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD)
Solid understanding of distributed systems, reliability, and observability
Experience building internal platforms or developer tooling is a strong plus
Ability to balance people leadership, hands-on engineering, and product thinking
Comfortable working in agile environments and driving continuous improvement
Interest in AI tooling and how it can improve engineering productivity
